Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Scout, operated by DIMSYL AI SOLUTIONS LLC ("Scout", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Scout, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Scout.

1. What Scout is

Scout is an automated security-assessment tool for software. You submit code (by upload, Git URL, or a connected repository) and Scout runs security scanners and an AI review, then returns findings, a letter grade, and suggested fixes. Scout may also rewrite code and re-scan it. Scout is an assessment aid — it is not a guarantee that your software is secure.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
You are responsible for everything done under your account.

3. Acceptable use — you may only scan what you're allowed to

This matters. As a condition of using Scout, you represent and agree that:

You own the code you submit, or are authorized to have it assessed. Do not submit code you do not have the right to share.
Live testing — testing a running system rather than its source — is not part of Scout today and is not included in any current tier. It is planned, and these terms cover it in advance: if and when we offer it, it will run only against a target you have verified you own or control, you will not point it at any system you are not authorized to test, and you will be solely responsible for any assessment you initiate.
You will not use Scout to attack, gain unauthorized access to, or disrupt any system; to violate any law; or to build a competing product by scraping or reverse-engineering Scout.
You will not abuse the service — e.g., circumventing rate limits or credit/billing controls, or reselling access without permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, and may report unlawful activity.

4. Payment, credits & refunds

Scout offers Free scans, per-scan pricing ($1 / $10 / $100), and monthly subscriptions that grant credits. Prices are shown at checkout and may change with notice.
Credits: paid scans and auto-fixes are run using credits. Deep and Audit credits expire two years after they are granted; regular fix credits do not expire. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable.
Payments are processed by Stripe; by paying you also agree to Stripe's terms.
Cancelling a subscription: you can cancel at any time yourself from Billing → Manage subscription, which opens our payment processor's secure billing portal. If you have any trouble, email questions@dimsylaisolutions.com and we will cancel your subscription the same day. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the period you are already in, and credits already granted to your account remain subject to their normal expiry.
Interrupted scans: if a scan is cut short by our infrastructure — a server restart, or a run that hangs and is timed out — we automatically return the credit that scan spent. If that scan was paid for in cash rather than with a credit, the return is not automatic: reply to your Stripe receipt and we will refund it.
Failed scans consume the credit. If a scan fails for an ordinary reason — we cannot clone your repository, it exceeds the size cap, or the analysis exits with an error — the credit is spent and is not returned automatically. If that happens and you believe you did not get what you paid for, reply to your Stripe receipt or email us and we will make it right.
Refunds: beyond the above, payments are generally non-refundable — in particular, credits that have already been spent on delivered scans or fixes are not refundable. We may, at our discretion, address individual billing issues. Requesting a refund or chargeback after consuming the service may result in account suspension, and refunding a credit purchase reverses the credits it granted.
You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

5. Your content & intellectual property

You keep all rights to your code. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the service to you.
We do not use your code or your findings to train any AI model.
Scout, its software, brand, and the format of its reports are our intellectual property. The findings for your code are yours to use.

6. No warranty

Scout is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Automated security analysis is imperfect: Scout may report issues that aren't real (false positives) and may miss issues that are (false negatives). A passing grade is not a certification or a guarantee that your software is secure. You remain responsible for the security of your own applications and for reviewing and testing any code Scout produces before you rely on it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scout and Dimsyl AI Solutions will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Scout — including any security incident Scout did not detect. Our total liability for any claim relating to Scout is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, or US $100, whichever is greater.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Scout harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right — including scanning or testing something you were not authorized to.

9. Termination

You may stop using Scout and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) survive termination.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Scout evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date; continued use after a change means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
